San Francisco Elections
S I T U A T I O N
The City and County of San Francisco is required by law – Federal, State and local ordinance – to provide voter information pamphlets as well as other election information in an accessible manner to all registered voters, including minority groups whose primary language is not English if they represent more than 5% of the local population.

Jungle Communications offered a complete solution that ensured that the City and County of San Francisco and its Department of Elections stayed in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, and fully addressed the needs of each constituency.

T A C T I C S
On an ongoing basis since 1999, Jungle Communications has been producing the English, Spanish, and Chinese versions of the 200 to 300 page Voter Information Pamphlets as well as the Sample Ballots for all general and primary elections held in San Francisco. These assignments include project management, design, layout, typesetting, translations, as well as recording of audiotape guides for the visually challenged. We also provide Spanish and Chinese translations and name transliterations for the ballots used in elections, and handle related multilingual data entry.

Jungle Communications provides a complete product that is printed and shipped to all registered voters in San Francisco. Counting the multiple, legally-mandated variations in information inserts and ballot types that must be produced, upwards of 300 versions of the pamphlet are designed, assembled, printed and shipped for each and every election. In spite of the heavy workloads and very accelerated time lines associated with these assignments, Jungle Communications has a sustained excellent track record of accuracy, compliance with election laws, and on-time delivery. As a result of our reputation, we have also assisted the City of Los Angeles, the City of San Diego, and several counties around California, as well as Sequoia Voting Systems and ES&S, on various occasions.
